Enabling Achievement — Current Projects
Soshanguve, Tshwane — Early Childhood Development Centre — 2025/2026
In Soshanguve, a group of young entrepreneurs had a vision: to build an Early Childhood Development centre that would serve their community for generations. They had the land, the drive, and the plan. What they needed was a partner.
CDII stepped in. Through targeted support, the building now has a roof, fencing, and completed infrastructure — ready for the next phase. This is what enabling achievement looks like.
The project
Community Development Initiatives International NPC (CDII) continues to play an active role in transforming rural and peri-urban communities across South Africa. In Soshanguve, CDII partnered with young entrepreneurs to establish an Early Childhood Development (ECD) centre — a project that addresses the urgent need for quality education facilities while creating real opportunities for local economic empowerment.
The young entrepreneurs in Soshanguve took the bold step of purchasing property to build the ECD centre. Limited financial resources stalled their progress. Recognising the potential impact of this initiative, CDII stepped in to provide critical support, enabling the project to move forward.
Achievements with CDII Support
The building structure was completed to the stage of putting up a roof, ensuring protection and readiness for further development.
Security was prioritised by purchasing and installing fencing materials to safeguard the property and its future learners.
A large portion of the building has been completed, laying the foundation for a fully functional ECD centre.
These achievements demonstrate how targeted support can accelerate community-driven projects that might otherwise stall due to financial constraints. This is enabling in action.

Funder Outcomes — B-BBEE SED & S18A Tax Certificate
This project demonstrates what forward-thinking corporate partners receive when they invest in real, verified community development through CDII.
The corporate funder obtained Socio-Economic Development (SED) scorecard points for their financial contribution to this project, where the applicable criteria were satisfied.
CDII, as a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO 930 041 456), issued an S18A Tax Certificate to the funder. This may qualify for a tax deduction, subject to SARS assessment and independent tax advice.
The contribution supported a real, verifiable, photographed community development project — suitable for inclusion in Integrated Annual Reports and ESG disclosures under King V governance principles.
CDII is B-BBEE Level 1 and a registered PBO. All outcomes are documented, photographed, and auditable.
The impact
The establishment of the ECD centre will have far-reaching benefits for the Soshanguve community:
"This project reflects CDII's broader mission of enabling communities to build their own sustainable futures. By investing in initiatives like the Soshanguve ECD centre, CDII supports communities to create the conditions for achievement — in education, in entrepreneurship, and in life."
